Board Composition

The Board of Directors is a unitary Board composed of 11 Directors, chaired by a Non-Executive Director, who are all residents of Mauritius. The Board is broad-based and consists of individuals from different backgrounds with the right balance of skills, experience and diversity. There are no alternate directors on the Board of the Company.

Mr Nureshkumar (Ashok) Prayag

Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries, Edinburgh, Scotland, UK

Mr Prayag was appointed Chairperson of SICOM General Insurance Ltd in May 2025. In the 1990s, he played a key role in the African expansion of the local branch of Munich RE, the German insurer. Prior to that, he served as the Controller of Insurance, the former regulatory authority overseeing the insurance sector under the aegis of the Ministry of Finance. He has over forty years of experience in the financial and insurance sectors.

Mr Anandsing Acharuz
Masters in Financial Economics, University of London
Mr Anandsing Acharuz is presently the acting Financial Secretary at the Ministry of Finance.

Mr Acharuz has held various responsibilities and worked on a number of important development issues while contributing to the socio-economic development of the country since joining the public service in 1996.

He has been responsible for, amongst others, the coordination and preparation of the National Budget and the formulation of policies and measures to ensure effective public finance management to improve public service delivery and supervising reforms in various sectors of the economy.

In view of his responsibilities, Mr Acharuz constantly engages with international organisations on policy measures to address issues and challenges facing the Mauritian economy. He has a thorough understanding of the economic, financial, fiscal, monetary, social and human resource policies.

He also serves as Director on the Board of a number of public bodies, for instance, the Mauritius Telecom Ltd, the Projects Development Fund and Airports of Mauritius Co Ltd and contributes to their effective financial management and good governance.

Mrs Isabelle Valérie Duval

Valerie Duval was called to the bar in 1995 and started a career in the insurance sector where she spent 13 years handling high level claims for key general insurers of the market.

She then joined Bank One Limited in 2008 as the Head of Legal. Over the last 17 years, Mrs Duval’s expertise ranges from advising Bank One on all legal aspects relating to the affairs and operations of the Bank to providing in the strategic legal support. 

Accomplished legal and executive leader with 30 years of senior management experience in, legal advisory, international loan documentation, recovery of assets in foreign jurisdictions, Mrs Duval is known for establishing trusted relationships with senior leadership and board members and providing proactive legal counsel across diverse sectors, she is highly adept at navigating complex regulatory frameworks, contract negotiation, and ensuring compliance and is also passionate about contributing to high-level decision-making and driving organizational growth.

Dev Gopy joined SICOM in 2001 after working for a leading local banking institution. He oversees investment management for the Group locally and overseas. He is also responsible for the loans, leasing, investment advisory and collective investment schemes businesses, as well as the operations of SICOM Global Fund Limited and
SICOM Management Limited.

Mr Gopy currently serves as Executive Director on the Boards of SICOM Financial Services Ltd and SICOM Management Limited. He is also a Director of Cyber Properties Investment Ltd and is a past Director of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius Ltd and the Central Depository and Settlement Co. Ltd.

Mr Sean Oliver Men Foong Lew Kew Lin

Oliver Lew is a highly experienced digital expert with a strong background in technology and its application in the corporate world. He holds a Master of Arts (Joint Honours) in Engineering and Computing Science from the University of Oxford.

Mr Lew’s career is marked by consistent growth and impact, with a track record of creating and developing successful companies. He has held several Managing Director positions and has a history of leading management, production, sales, and technical teams. 

In addition to his operational roles, Mr Oliver Lew has served in several board and advisory positions, including as Board Director of the Financial Services Commission, Chairman of the Export Processing Zone Development Authority and Board Director of the National Computer Board.

Mr Lew is currently the Managing Director of the Eruption Group.

Ms Maheswaree Naraini Madhub 

Ms Maheswaree Madhub is currently the Senior Chief Executive of the Ministry of Social Integration, Social Security and National Solidarity.  She holds a BSc Major in Biochemistry and Botany from the Australian National University, a Diploma in Public Administration and Management from the University of Mauritius and a Certificate on “La Bonne Governance et Réforme de l’Etat from Institut Administration Publique/l’Ecole Nationale d’Administration.


She started her career in the Public Service in 1988 as Assistant Secretary.  She has wide experience in the Public Service, having served in the following Ministries namely: Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Office of the President, Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Prime Minister’s Office (External Communications Division) and (Cabinet Office), Ministry of Industrial Development, SMEs and Cooperatives and Ministry of Housing and Land Use Planning.  She has served as Supervising Officer to the Ministry of Health and Wellness and Ministry of Agro-Industry and Food Security.  She has also served as Secretary to the Electoral Supervisory Commission and Electoral Boundaries Commission and has served as Chairperson/Director in a number of Statutory Bodies and Government owned Organisations.

Mrs Nandita RAMDEWAR (Group CEO)

Nandita Ramdewar took up the position of Group CEO in May 2021 after acting as Officer-in-Charge since August 2019. She was appointed to the SICOM Board in 2013.

She worked for a leading audit firm prior to joining the Group as Manager (Finance) in 1992. She has since held senior management roles in various business units and has served as Company Secretary, Deputy Group CEO and Chief Finance Officer. During her career, she has gained broad experience in insurance, strategy, finance, investments, financial services, corporate matters and other fields.

Mrs Ramdewar currently serves on the Boards of Directors of SICOM Financial Services Ltd, SICOM General Insurance Ltd, SICOM Global Fund Limited, SICOM Management Limited and National Housing Development Co. Ltd. She is also a past Chairperson of the Private Secondary Schools Authority and has been a Director of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius Ltd and Central Depository and Settlement Co. Ltd.

Mr Mohammad Junaid Sairally 

Mr Sairally currently serves as an Accountant at Batimex Ltd, where he is responsible for financial reporting. He also leads a team aimed at streamlining operations within the accounting department. He is also a member of the Strategic and Policy and Procedures Committee.
